I like to keep my dashboard as sparse as I can make it. I don't like having apps that I barely use or care for taking up memory. Its just the way I am. At one point I had as many apps in my dashboard as in the screenshot, but then I noticed how much memory they were eating up, and of they went.
On the other hand, I'm getting very used to using OS X, and soon might become one of those die hard fans, who can't live without their Apple!
"Orphan Control:
If IE discovers that you are printing a document that gets laid-out on two pages and the second page only covers minimal white-space, we automatically shrink-to-fit the page to fit on only 1 page of paper. Of course, you can manually adjust the scaling rate back if you rather have it printed on 2 pages but we believe that we will save a lot of trees with this feature. :-)"

"I’m very happy that we’ve shipped IE 7 beta 1. I wanted to make it clear that we know Beta 1 makes little progress for web developers in improving our standards support, particularly in our CSS implementation. I feel badly about this, but we have been focused on how to get the most done overall for IE7, so due to our lead time for locking down beta releases and ramping up our team, we could not get a whole lot done in the platform in beta 1. However, I know this will be better in Beta 2 – and I want to share how we are placing our priorities in IE."

"Web programmers are often perceived as 'junior developers', or as amateurs. A major reason for this is that, until recently, web applications were written on a smaller scale. As a result, many web projects are still thrown together without proper planning. This used to be considered acceptable, but the growing size and scope of web applications today demands a more mature and robust approach. The time is fast approaching when web applications will match the scale of client-side applications, and inexperienced web developers (and companies) are simply going to be left behind."

Yahoo Update - with sandbox too?
This new yahoo update is frustrating for me.
First because it appears that yahoo is trying to apply sandbox like google, penalising new sites although the sites offer relevant and high quality pages.
Second because instead of being replaced by good pages, the ones that are replacing my good SERPS are pages that are sometimes funny and irrelevant.

Micro Persuasion: Yahoo Buys Konfabulator
To help popularize the widgets, Yahoo plans will give away the Konfabulator software that empowers the applications. Konfabulator had been charging $20 for the software. Anyone who bought version 2.0 of the software since mid-May will be given refunds, said Konfabulator CEO Arlo Rose.
At first I thought that this might not be a smart move, since Apple already bundles Dashboard with OS X Tiger which does similar things. But then I read the article which reminded me that they have a Windows version as well. And that is a good deal. And if they are going to give it away for free, then its a really good deal for the consumers, Konfabulator and Yahoo. I know I'll be downloading the free version to run on my windows machine for sure.

"The quality of the traffic is just as important as the quantity. For instance, let's assume that the target page is part of an e-commerce site. If the linking page receives visits from affluent online shoppers that are likely to convert into sales or leads, this traffic will be quite valuable to the target page. Conversely, if the traffic to the linking page is mostly made up of visitors looking for freebies or warez, then this traffic may be virtually worthless to the target site."

They held their cigarettes awkwardly, toked the butts tentatively, guarding against a cough, not quite liking the strange taste of the drug. As I passed, I wanted to say "You know it's going to be very hard to quit that later, and it's likely to cause you a lot of pain and unhappiness." But I didn't. I remember that didn't mean anything to me when I started smoking, at roughly their age, in roughly the same way. Either you're going to smoke or not, and either you're going to stop or not, and someone telling you something can make a difference, but not under those circumstances. So I didn't say anything.
Its damn hard. I'm three weeks without smoking, and yesterday night I gave in to the urge and had a smoke!!! Damn... but that does not mean that I am giving up. So even though it feels like I'm starting from scratch after yesterday night I am going to keep on going.
